The Vriksha Team's investigation led to a very disturbing result..on the Padmathirtha Pond of Shree Padmananabhaswamy Temple in Trivandrum city that attracts lakhs of tourists from around the globe per year..the photo that folows shows the piteous state of the former majestic pond
Our organization on behalf of responsible citizens demand to the Padmanabhaswamy temple trust :
> To completely stop the system of allowing public to bathe in the pond with soap which is athreat to the wildlife and also pollutes the eco-system
> To stop giving of popcorn which is fed to the fish in plastic covers which are thrown into the pond by the public and causes damage and death of fishes by suffocation,Instead it can be given to the public in newspaper bits and should be strictly be put into wate bins after use
>They should also make a regulation to check the dumping of wastes from shops and restaurents in the fort area around the pond and wrong-doers should be striclty punished
